Little Seizures — What’s Shaking?
I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts, Last Podcast on the Left the other day and @drfantasty & @eddietunes were talking about a Melbourne man who was faking seizures…absolutely nutty story, so definitely go listen. Anyway, they made a joke about “Little Seizures” instead of Little Caesars, and I had to design it.
Some fun facts about my design & epilepsy:
I chose to put Lamictal on the outfit because that’s the anti-epilepsy medication I take, but there are several other types of medications for different forms of epilepsy.
I used zigzag lines to represent shaking and convulsing. Seizures that involve shaking/convulsing are called grand mal, or tonic-clonic seizures. That is the kind I have.
Not all seizures involve shaking and convulsing. There are several types of epilepsy and they all look different.
Some seizures, known as absent seizures, can actually look like someone is spacing out. There are also focal/partial seizures, which appear different depending on where they are happening in the brain.
Epilepsy is a common comorbidity in people with cerebral palsy.
Making jokes about my disabilities makes it easier to deal with, so having epilepsy, this was right up my alley. I created multiple versions of it using my branding colors, Little Caesars colors, and some additional ones for fun.
I designed this in Illustrator, but you can see my original procreate drawing in the last slide.
I’m still working my podcast, Thank You So Much for Asking, but I’ve been quite busy so I’ll post it as soon as I can. In the meantime, feel free to reach out with any disability questions you may have so I can answer them for you on the pod!
My favorite one is purple because purple is the color that represents epilepsy and solitude for those with it. Swipe to see all of the colors as well as the original logo that I used for inspiration. Which one is your favorite?
